CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu donated one of his salaries to the "One Rent One Home" Campaign

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's 'One Rent One Home' campaign, launched for Izmir earthquake victims after the Izmir Earthquake on October 30, 2020, continues for the earthquake victims centred in Kahramanmaraş. Many citizens are donating to the 'One Rent One Home' campaign organized on Halk TV this evening.

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu also joined the live broadcast of the "One Rent One Home" campaign by phone and donated another salary for the earthquake victims. CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu said:

"I went to the earthquake zone for the third time today. When you go there when you witness the suffering, when you listen to the demands of our people - and you usually listen to the suffering - the importance of such campaigns is realized more clearly. First, I would like to sincerely thank Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the 'One Rent One Home' campaign and Halk TV for opening its channel to this campaign. We all know the truth. The majority of our citizens in the region are homeless. Buildings and houses have been demolished. We have all seen this. I have personally witnessed this by visiting three times. The homes that have not been destroyed are not entered out of fear. Frankly, this is the right thing to do. They should not enter. Our citizens should only enter risky buildings once the inspections are completed, especially multi-storey buildings.

As such, there is still a need for tents and containers in the region. Secondly, there is a need for financial support for our people who temporarily leave the provinces. This also emerges as a second reality. To support this meaningful campaign organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, I would like to donate another salary to this campaign. The more people we can reach out to, the more people we can help, and the better. Our nation will brighten these days in solidarity as long as these honourable people will never be lonely again. Let us do our duty. I don't want anyone to be hopeless. Turkey is a strong country. Our people have internalized solidarity and that culture of solidarity; they deeply feel it in their souls. Therefore, we will overcome this pain together."
