CHP Chairperson and Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu:
- "Do not vote for those who violate the servant's rights. Voting for those who violate the rights of servants means being a partner with those who abuse the rights of servants. I am saying this so clearly, so plainly."
- "As the Nation Alliance, we promised the following: We owe it to you to account for every cent taken from you, every cent you pay in taxes. We will spend the money on the spot and account for it. We will spend it for the nation, not for ourselves. Politics is not a means of enrichment; politics is a means of serving the people; we say this so clearly, so frankly."
-" This is how we will ask for forgiveness from you; we will build your house, shop, and barn. We will not take a penny from you, not even a single cent. Then we will come when we hand over your keys; we will say, 'You have lost your relative, it is not possible to bring back the deceased, but we have built you your house, your shop, your barn; we are handing over your keys, now let's make our peace.' This is how our peace will be."
- "I will bring the 418 billion dollars stolen from the treasury and put it in the pockets of this nation. No one should worry. They say, 'Sir, how will you get the money? Do not worry at all. This brother of yours will take it to the last cent. We will take it to the last cent and bring it back."
- "They think, 'We stole it, we took it away, Kılıçdaroğlu cannot find it.' I will find it, Sir, I will find it, I will find it if they take it to Fezzan, to Fezzan! We will bring back not some of that money but all of it; this nation will prosper, and this country will prosper. We will not let those who steal get away with it."
Republican People's Party Chairperson and Nation Alliance Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, together with Nation Alliance Leaders Meral Akşener, Ali Babacan, Gültekin Uysal, Temel Karamollaoğlu and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, came together with earthquake-stricken citizens at the iftar programme organised by the Felicity Party in Adıyaman.
CHP Chairperson and Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said the following in his speech here:
"Thank you.
Just now, the host, Mr Temel, the honourable chairman of the Felicity Party, made a very lucid and clear speech. He talked about unity in the address. He said that politics is a race, but a race for goodness. He said that mutual accusations were useless and that the main thing was to solve the problems of this country. So, in the presence of all of you, I sincerely thank the host, Mr Karamollaoğlu, for inviting us here; thank you very much, Sir.
Ms Akşener is among us, but I don't know where she is, is she there? Yes, Ms President, hello, Madam, welcome.
I think Mr Babacan has just arrived, and I extend my greetings and respect to Mr Babacan.
Mr Uysal, Mr Chairperson of the Democratic Party, you are also welcome.
Look, as the Nation Alliance, we are committed to one thing: We are determined to solve the problems of this nation. We will solve them together; we will solve them collectively. We will solve them jointly and together. Without polarisation, we will serve this country by embracing each other, showing love and respect to each other, and not violating the rights of servants - I underline by not violating the rights of servants.
While saying this, I want you to know this. During the municipal elections, they said, 'Sir, if you vote for CHP municipalities, this will happen, that will happen,' and they threw a lot of slanders. But our mayors were elected, and none of them violates the right of servant. Although their budgets were cut, they made more significant investments, and they stood by the poor, they stood by the disadvantaged, they served everyone, and they did not make discrimination. One of them is here with us, Mr Mansur Yavaş.
We are together and united, determined to solve the problems of this country. Discrimination is not in our playbook. Human beings are the most valuable creatures created by God, and politically we consider it an honour and pride to serve all people. As long as in this country, in this beautiful country, in this beautiful homeland, no child should go to bed hungry; there should be peace and prosperity in every home. This is our desire.
Of course, our people are in significant pain; we are aware of this and know this. We know very well that there is great suffering.
Dear friends, when I said that the citizens could not afford onions, they made fun of onions. We used to have that in the past too. Those who received aid were criticised and mocked as 'pasta eaters'. Overcoming all this, I say clearly and openly that when we come to power, God willing, with your votes, we will build a beautiful Turkey where no child goes to bed hungry, a beautiful Turkey. We criticise when necessary. We also make our own criticisms. We also tell our own mistakes when necessary. Then, when the time comes, we say, "If we have faults, if we are wrong, let's sit down, talk, let's make amends". Because, as human beings, we need each other. We are together. We should be together, embrace each other and solve Turkey's problems.
One more thing... Now look, dear people of Adıyaman...
(Upon slogans of rights, law and justice in the hall) Thank you. If you want rights, law and justice, you will go to the polling stations on the 14th of May; you will vote in favour of fairness, law and justice. This is the solution to this issue. That is why I am telling you, do not vote for those who eat the servant's right. To vote for those who eat the right of servitude means to be partners with those who eat the right of servitude. I say this so clearly and frankly because we, as the Nation Alliance, have made this promise: We owe it to this nation to account for every cent. We owe it to you to account for every cent taken from you, every cent you pay in taxes. We will spend the money on the spot and account for it. We will spend it for the nation, not for ourselves. Politics is not a means of enrichment or not serving the people; we say this so clearly.
They came and told you. They said, "We will build you a house, two years of which will be free of payment, and we will get back the money we spent in 20 years in instalments." Didn't they say that? They did.
We, as the Nation Alliance, say the following as the Nation Alliance: When you bought your house when you bought your shop, there were 42 signatures on 23 different documents. In other words, everyone had a signature, from the civil engineer to the architect, from the physics engineer to the Geologist. You only went to the title deed office and put in a single signature. You said, 'I can buy this house, this shop.' And so you were under the state's guarantee, within the framework of the regulations issued by the state, they promised you that 'this building is earthquake resistant', there were regulations; they said 'this shop is earthquake resistant', they promised you. So you went, trusted the state, bought the shop, and bought the flat. But the earthquake happened, and it was discovered that the promises made were inaccurate and that the document's signatories needed to sign correctly...
And you lost your lives; your relatives lost their lives. Now they say to you, 'Let's make peace'. We are not like that; how will we ask you for your forgiveness? We will ask for forgiveness like this; we will build your house, we will build your shop, we will build your barn. We will not take a penny from you, not a single cent. We will not take even a penny from you; then we will come and hand over your keys and say, "You have lost your relative, it is not possible to bring back the deceased, but we have built your house, your shop, your barn, we are handing over your keys, now let's make our peace." This is how we will make our peace.
We know the region's drama and the problems experienced, and we will solve all of them. No one should forget; they ask, "Sir, where is the money?" They ask, "Where will you find the money?" He says, "I will do it in one year, two years grace period, then get it in 20 years. I say, 'Yes, we will do it, no grace period, we have already done it, and I will not take the money; what are you saying?' Because what I say is following the constitution, what I say is following human rights, what I say is under rights, law and justice. If you do this, the issue is over. Therefore, you sit down and make peace with your citizens; I want everyone to know this.
Dear brothers and sisters, Ramadan is a beautiful month when our spiritual feelings are enriched, we embrace, and we share our troubles. It is a month in which we grow our friendship as real friends and embrace and get along as brothers and sisters.
Therefore, this month will be promising for all of us, Turkey, and the Islamic world. Therefore, we long for and will build a beautiful Turkey where there is no pain, everyone lives with a smiling face, and they embrace and embrace each other on the streets and avenues. Remember the name of the alliance that will do this, the Nation Alliance, and we will continue on our way within this framework.
As I said, on the 14th of the month, on the 14th of May, you will not say, 'Sir, I have work today; I cannot go to the polling station'. You will convince your neighbour; you will go together. Turkey is the Turkey of all of us. And Turkey cannot tolerate such poverty. Therefore, every home will be abundant, with income in every house, security in every home, and peace in every home. There will be peace in every home so that there will be peace in Turkey and peace on the streets. As I said, politics is not a means of enrichment.
While doing these things, they say, 'Where will you get the money from'... I said it, and I repeat it: I will bring the 418 billion dollars stolen from the treasury and put it in the pockets of this nation. No one should worry. They say, 'Sir, how will you get the money? Do not worry at all. This brother of yours will take it to the last cent. We will take it to the last cent and bring it back. They think, 'We stole it, we took it away, Kılıçdaroğlu cannot find it.' I will find it, Sir, I will find it, I will find it if they take it to Fezzan, to Fezzan! We will bring back not some of that money but all of it; this nation will prosper, and this country will prosper. Therefore, we will not let those who steal get away with it. That is the common characteristic of all of us, the leaders of the Nation Alliance; we will not let those who steal get away with it. We will say, 'Wait a minute, brother,' we will say, 'You took this money, now I will take it; we will give it to the nation; it is the nation's money.
I extend my sincerest love and respect to all of you. Thank Mr Karamollaoğlu for hosting us again; thank you, thank you, Sir."
