CHP Leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu: "I will raise the lowest civil servant salary to 2.5 times the minimum wage."

CHP Chairperson and National Alliance Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, "In 2012, the lowest civil servant salary was 2.5 times the minimum wage. Currently, this rate has declined to 1.4. That is why I will increase the lowest civil servant salary to 2.5 times the minimum wage as soon as I come to power. In other words, if I say it in today's amounts; the lowest civil servant salary will be 21 thousand 265 liras net... In addition, after 15 May, we will appoint 100 thousand new security personnel. In addition, we will bring 100 thousand teachers waiting for appointment together with their students."

CHP Chairman and Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu published a new video titled "Public. Civil Servants" on his Twitter account tonight. Explaining his promises for civil servants and those waiting for an appointment in the video, CHP leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu said the following:

"Dear people; another short, clear video.

Civil servants are in miserable conditions. To put it bluntly, they have been devastated. Their houses and buildings are ruined. They have been driven into debt. I can't stand by and watch this injustice. I am a person of figures. I look at the statistics and make a decision.

In 2012, the lowest civil servant salary was 2.5 times the minimum wage. Currently, this ratio has fallen to 1.4. That is why I will increase the lowest civil servant salary to 2.5 times the minimum wage as soon as I come to power. In other words, if I say it in today's amounts, the lowest civil servant salary will be 21 thousand 265 liras net.

Dear fellow civil servants, Mr Kemal, spent 27.5 years in the state. If there is someone who will bring spring to civil servants, believe me, it is Mr Kemal. Let me add that salary is one of many problems for our civil servants. They are struggling with many problems. I know them all. For example, the working hours of police officers reach 12-13 hours a day and 240-250 hours a month. This is one of the reasons behind police suicides. 1 million 200 thousand teachers guarantee our future, our precious ones to whom we entrust our children. They try to perform their duties in many impossibilities, from crowded classrooms to school hygiene problems and material shortages.

I also said today at our Denizli rally; we will appoint 100 thousand new security personnel after 15 May. We will reunite 100 thousand teachers with their students. We will eliminate discrimination, such as contracted, paid, and permanent teachers. All teachers will be permanent.

What more will this Mr Kemal do? Wait and see."
