CHP Leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu in Gölbaşı: "Mr Kemal has set his mind on this path; no power can prevent him"

CHP Chairperson and Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Kemals will save this country. Don't worry, Mr Kemal has set his mind on this path. I continue on my way with determination. No power can prevent me, no power. You are the only ones I trust. I trust this nation, and I trust our people. We will go and change the order of Turkey through democratic means."

CHP Chairperson and National Alliance Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu continued his visits to the disaster-stricken province of Adıyaman on the first day of Eid.

Addressing the citizens in Gölbaşı district of Adıyaman, CHP leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu said the following in his speech:

"Sir, first of all, may Eid be blessed for all of you. We will live together in a more peaceful Turkey with more pleasant holidays. We have set out to build a Turkey where the fights are over, where the noises are over, where at least we embrace, where we are together, where we are together. We have to be together. We are sick and tired of fighting; no more fight. If we can grow our culture of solidarity, we will grow Turkey. Our greatest desire is for everyone in Turkey to have a job.

Yes, you experienced the earthquake. Nearly 50 thousand lives are now under the ground. The hearts of all of us were here, the hearts of Turkey were here, and the hearts of the world were here. I was here on the second day of the earthquake. I knew that the wounds had to be healed. I knew the citizens shouting, 'Where is the state'. I knew the citizens under the rubble whose voices we heard. I was their witness. But we have to look to the future and build the future well. Our mayors were here, and they are here today. Our Mayor of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality is here, and he sends his greetings and respect to you. Our Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor is here, and she also sends his greetings and respect to you.

We did not discriminate, and we ran to whoever had a problem. Because if you discriminate among your citizens, you cannot govern the country properly, and you cannot govern it well. It is necessary to embrace everyone, be a partner in every problem, and find solutions to every problem. Your houses were destroyed, and your shops were destroyed. The houses and barns of those living in rural areas were destroyed. I have a promise to this nation. God willing, when we come to power with your votes, we will rebuild all of the houses of those whose homes, shops and barns were demolished, make them earthquake-resistant, hand over the keys, and not ask for a penny.

This is a requirement of the social state. Twenty-three separate documents are being issued. There are 43 signatures on 23 different documents. None of them has your signature. They say, 'The building was built correctly. It is an earthquake-resistant building; we have built a building that complies with regulations, laws, and everything. The engineer signs, the architect signs, the survey engineer signs, and everyone signs. The citizen signs the title deed and says, 'The house, the building is solid, earthquake resistant. The concrete was poured properly. I went and bought my house with the state's guarantee. Then an earthquake strikes, and the house collapses. Who is to blame? The citizen? Is it your fault? The blame lies with those who signed 43 signatures on 23 different documents and saw them.

Therefore, I have a promise to you, a pledge of honour, Mr Kemal's promise; I will build your houses and deliver each house. And you will see, after that, I will come and make peace with you. I will say, 'I built the house, I built the shop, I built the barn; I don't get a penny. But it is not possible to bring back those who died. So let's make peace with each other. Then we will be at peace with our citizens.

And our Mayor of Gölbaşı, who serves you, is also here. He has also experienced the troubles you have experienced, and he has also experienced the troubles. Therefore, of course, there were great difficulties in the first days of the earthquake. I know, I have been there, I know, I have seen it, I know the cold weather, I have experienced it too. I stayed in this earthquake zone for two nights, one in a tent and one in Arsuz. Therefore, I am someone who knows all the troubles you are going through, more or less. But it is you who are suffering, and the political power will relieve you and save you from these troubles. When it comes to power, when we come to power, you will see that we will make no distinction, no distinction.

We have a beautiful tradition, 'Neighbour needs his neighbour's need'. Your solidarity, coming together, sharing the pain, and us being a partner in that pain is our most attractive characteristic. Inshallah, we will heal all wounds, we will be together, we will be together.

Do not say, 'I am not going to the polling stations'. Go to the polls. I only want one thing: for God's sake, do not vote for those who violate servants' rights! Don't vote for those who violate the rights of servants! Isn't that enough? Those who work with honour, which works correctly, who are moral... At least Turkey needs a change; Turkey needs a transformation. We will do this together. We will embrace, we will make peace, we will grow Turkey. Turkey is a rich country and we will compete with the world. I would like you to know this.

Thank you all, thank you all. I offer you all my sincerest greetings and respect, thank you.

Kemals will save this country. Don't worry, Mr Kemal has set out his mind on this path. I continue on my way with determination. No power can stop me, no power. You are the only ones I trust. I trust this nation, and I trust our people. We will go and change the order of Turkey through democratic means. As the late Ecevit said, we will neither be the oppressor nor the oppressed; there will be a just and humane order.

Thank you."
