CHP Leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu in Mersin: "We will create 850 thousand new employment opportunities in 5 years."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairperson and Nation Alliance Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with citizens of Mersin today at the rally area next to the old Tevfik Sırrı Gür Stadium in Mersin. CHP Leader and Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was accompanied by Mansur Yavaş, Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

CHP leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu said the following in his speech at the rally

- "We will erase the interest on farmers' debts to Agricultural Credit Cooperatives or banks. We will reconcile the farmer with the land. The farmer will produce; everyone will win; Turkey will win; there will be peace in every home, and every home will be abundant. Farmers will produce; we will no longer buy wheat, bananas, strawberries, chickpeas, livestock and meat from abroad. We will produce everything, consume it ourselves and export the surplus."

- "Mersin residents embraced the earthquake victims the most. Therefore, not only me but Turkey owes you a debt of gratitude. You embraced 350 thousand earthquake victims, cared about and tried to solve their problems. Therefore, you gave an important example of solidarity to Turkey and the world."

- "I promised all earthquake victims that I would build the houses, workplaces and barns of all those whose houses, shops and barns were destroyed. And I will fulfil their rights without receiving a penny of money. The Constitution says, 'The administration has to compensate the damage caused by the fault of the administration.' We will provide this as required by the Constitution. There will be no such thing as owing for 20 years. It will not be like what they are doing."

- "Some citizens whose houses were destroyed after the earthquake in Samsat are still living in containers. We will build their houses; we will build beautiful houses for them; they will be resistant houses and earthquake-resistant houses."

-" They will work for gangs of five; Mr Kemal will work for citizens, pensioners, workers, farmers and tradesmen."

-". I have no interest in such palaces. For God's sake! Palaces are not for us. Especially not for me. God willing, when I am elected President with your votes, I will go to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's Çankaya."

- "I have a promise; I will cut all those who receive salaries from 3 or 5 places. There will be no such honeyed salaries. Everyone will have a salary equal to how much they work. There will be one pension; therefore, we will end the period of receiving pensions from 7-8 places, 10-15 places."

- "We will also put an end to the lunch box practice. The children will go to school, drink water with their friends, drink milk, eat food, and return home with a full stomach. Thus, the mother will never think about what to put in the lunchbox."

- "Family Support Insurance... All households will have a minimum income security. The left hand will not see what the right hand gives. No one should suffer from poverty in this land."

- "We will make Mersin one of the strongest cities in this region. We will connect all the industrial cities of Central Anatolia to Mersin and Iskenderun by railways. Thus, in the next five years, we will create new employment opportunities for approximately 850 thousand people. This region will be a 'Special Economic Zone'."
