CHP Leader and Presidential Candidate Kılıçdaroğlu: "In our presidency, every border gate will be our honour."

"Protecting our sovereign borders is our debt of honour. Therefore, we will do the opposite in our presidency; every border gate will be our honour. No one will be able to enter Turkey through these borders. I want this to be known by everyone."

Dear members of the press, I have come here for two reasons. First, you see the Syrian border in front of you and behind me. We will send our Syrian brothers and sisters to their homelands within two years at the latest, without disgracing this honourable nation, without putting a black stain like racism. I want everyone there to know this. We will send our Syrian brothers and sisters back to their homeland, but at the same time, we will make Turkey the strongest leading country in the Mediterranean. We will open the Iranian border and return the Afghans who came to Turkey to their country of origin via Iran. I want Syria, Iran and Afghanistan to know this.

We are saying it clearly and plainly; we do not have a hidden agenda behind us, and we have no prejudice against any country, citizen, or, more precisely, any foreigner. But we want to live freely in our own country. Therefore, we do not wish for the demographic structure of our government to be altered.

The second issue I have said many times is written on all the border gates, 'The border is honour'. The main reason for the honour of the border is that the border is the area in which our sovereign borders are defined. What lies within those lines are our sovereign borders. Protecting our sovereign borders is also our debt of honour. Therefore, we will do the opposite in our presidency. Every border gate will be our honour. No one will be able to enter Turkey through these borders. I would like this to be known by everyone.
