CHP Leader Özel: "I am greatly pleased by the UN’s Declaration of July 11 as Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance and Commemoration Day"

The Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Özgür Özel, issued a statement regarding the adoption of the resolution by the United Nations General Assembly, which designates July 11 as the "Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance Day." In his message shared via social media, CHP Leader Özel expressed the following sentences:

"I am greatly pleased that the United Nations General Assembly, by recognizing the events of July 11, 1995, as genocide, has declared July 11 as Srebrenica Genocide Remembrance and Commemoration Day. As Alija Izetbegović rightfully stated, 'A forgotten genocide repeats.'"
