Erdoğan, we will fight you to the end; this was in our destiny plan

My dear people, good evening...

Our nation is experiencing deep pain. First of all, our condolences to all of us... We are in an extraordinary mobilisation with our people's resilience, unity and cooperation. The people of this country are honourable, and we owe it to them to build the life they deserve.

That is why this time, I will tell you what our people are facing, where these Palace politics has brought us and why I can never accept this so-called supra-political imposition, this time through an official report. Yes, I will tell you through an official statement.

It is easiest to say that it is above politics, but I am in such a place that I can no longer do that. I must walk on this broken glass barefoot because I am fighting for my people. Do you understand? I am fighting for my people.

Look, here is the report in my hand; I am reading a sentence from the introduction of this report; the reason why this report was prepared is written here... "It was prepared to contribute to disaster management in similar events that may occur in our country where disaster risks are very high". So, yes, it has been prepared to contribute.

What does it say?

On 23 November 2022, only two and a half months ago, there was an earthquake of 5.9 magnitudes in the Gölyaka district of Düzce. There was no loss of life. Ninety-six of our citizens were injured. It was a relatively minor earthquake. AFAD prepared an analysis report after the earthquake.

So, what does AFAD say in that report? I summarise:

"We could not provide coordination".

"The collecting stations were chosen incorrectly".

"The aid arrived late".

"We could not follow up on the situation of the tents".

"There was no unit to ensure the follow-up and coordination of the personnel on duty".

"Coordination unit could not be established".

"We had problems in food distribution".

"Disaster transport personnel could only reach Düzce province after two days".

"We were insufficient even in the damage assessment process after the earthquake," he says.

"We could not establish a proper damage assessment team," he says.

"Instead of civil engineers, we formed a team of teachers and imams".

My dear people, AFAD has analysed itself. The honourable bureaucrats of AFAD have written it all down. But who is listening? Tell me, for God's sake, how can I keep silent about all this? This is above politics. Should I not see it? Shall I call it a plan of destiny?

My dear people, the earthquake was tremendous, but what was much bigger than the earthquake required coordination, lack of planning, and lack of merit. And they knowingly, blatantly, took these risks.

The point where our loss of life will reach is not because of the magnitude of the earthquake but because of the ineffectiveness and inadequacy of the response.

Erdoğan, we will fight you to the end; this was in our destiny plan.
