PRESS STATEMENT OF CHP CHAIRPERSON AND PRESIDENT CANDIDATE OF THE NATION ALLIANCE KEMAL KILIÇDAROĞLU

My dear people;

I could not and did not allow our children to violate your rights while trying to hold on to life without a job and power. I could not and did not let our children go to bed hungry, my tradespeople be in debt, and my farmers resent the soil and production. From Hakkari to Edirne, from Sinop to Hatay, we are all one family. I could not; I did not allow a huge family to be pitted against each other. I could not, and I did not let my people's waists be twisted and their cupboards be empty while everything was raised every day.

As a brother, a friend, a son, an uncle, and above all, as a person of this land, I have always fought for your rights, for your law, for no one to oppress you, for you not to resent each other, for you to live in abundance and peace, and I will continue to do so.

Now I have a request from you. Support the struggle for democracy for yourselves, for our children, for our pensioners, for our mothers, fathers, farmers and tradesmen.

We have experienced the most unfair election process in recent years. All the means of the state were mobilised for one political party and laid at the feet of one man. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the chairpersons, organisations and voters of the National Alliance who fought against these immoral and unlawful pressures and the climate of fear they wanted to spread, and to all my fellow citizens who protected the ballot boxes and continue to do so.

My special thanks also go to women and young people. They are the real heroes of our struggle for democracy. I greet them with love and respect.

In this election, the will of the people to change an authoritarian rule has emerged despite all pressures. The Republican People's Party and the National Alliance are fighting on every front with all its elements. We will continue to be at the forefront of this struggle until true democracy comes to our country.

What we do for this homeland is not enough. You should know that my leading cause of sadness is the much more significant problems awaiting the country. I want you to know we will first stand against those troubles.

From now on, I would like to see our more than 25 million citizens who voted for me standing up in good spirits. Our march continues, and we are here.
