Written Press Statement by Ünal Çeviköz on the Burning of the Turkish Flag and Quran in Denmark

CHP Istanbul MP and CHP Group Spokesperson in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Ünal Çeviköz's written press statement on the burning of the Turkish flag and the Koran in Denmark is as follows:

"We have learned with concern about the burning of our Turkish flag and the Holy Quran in Denmark on March 24. We condemn this attack that incites hate crime.

It is vital to respect all countries' sacred values and religions to preserve tolerance and peace.

As the Republican People's Party, we are saddened and concerned about this incident during a critical period full of spiritual feelings, such as Ramadan. Measures must be taken to prevent similar incidents and to prevent similar attacks. We hope the Danish authorities will show the necessary sensitivity and respect."
