Republican People's Party Chairperson Özgür Özel laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame Monument in Sarajevo, where he was in Sarajevo on the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina Statehood Day. After the ceremony, Özel talked with Denis Becirovic, Member of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and said, "Like our previous chairmen, my interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina and my efforts to maintain good relations will continue."

In Sarajevo, Özel laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame Monument as part of the ceremonies organized for the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the ceremony, Özel had a discussion with Denis Becirovic, Member of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina and said, "You hold a very important position in your country. As a political relative of yours, I am very happy to see you in this position. I wish to see you in healthier days in the future." Özel said, "Hikmet Çetin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs when Bosnia and Herzegovina was recognized, is one of the former chairmen of our party. Like our previous chairmen, my interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina and my efforts to maintain good relations will continue." "We will be with you at the highest level on November 25 and July 11," said Özel. "As for municipalities, 65 percent of Turkey's population is covered by the mayors of my party. We hope to increase this after the elections in March. I will instruct all my mayors to increase the number and quality of their twin municipal relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina."
